Photoshoot Etiquette 101

Lesson #1

*IF YOU ARE DOING A TFP STYLE SHOOT….

ALWAYS RETURN THE PHOTOS!

…END OF STORY*

I ran into an awkward situation today where I saw my first model that I have ever put makeup on and had a paid photoshoot with. Lets just say the situation wasnt the best since I havent seent her in….5 years or so. She walked into my office and immediately recognized that we somehow knew each other. After talking about products for a short while it hit me! And Im pretty sure it hit her too because we both looked at each with a blank stare for at least 7 seconds.

My whole body was covered in goosebumps after I found her name through my computer system (since she was ordering). I couldnt bare any moment longer being in the same room as her. I sprinted into the warehouse to get her order ready by myself just so that I didnt have to look at her.

Now you might think that something dramatic happened between us…in reality, nothing crazy ever happened. She was my very first paid model who wanted an edgy alternative photoshoot. I remember having my first makeup and hair kit which fit in my tiny carry-on bag. My camera was Canon Rebel that still took film. I remember freaking out over if everything sanitary enough and if she notices that I was nervous.

The photoshoot was great and since it was my first one, I remembered every little detail about it to this day…down to where she lived (Im no stalker!). After everything was said and done…I never developed the photos for her. It haunts me to this day! I have always felt bad that I never got around the making them for her, and not even because I didnt want to…it just slipped my mind.

Karma will come bite you on the ass. So make sure shes not biting you for something so small and that you could have avoided just by not procrastinating.

Keep this lesson to the grave children!
